In a city where friendship never goes out of style, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis are taking their final bow in another chapter in the “Sex and the City” universe.
Friday brought the news that the women of “And Just Like That… ” will be stepping off their stilettos for the series’ third and final season. The show, which brought us Carrie Bradshaw, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, has had quite the journey. Now, the women who brought the world Charlotte York (Davis), and Miranda Hobbes (Nixon) are sharing their reflections on what this wild ride has meant.
“I am profoundly sad,” Davis wrote in an Instagram post on Friday. “I love our whole beautiful cast and crew. 400 artisans working so hard on our show with deep love.”
She went on to address the show’s “loyal fans,” and expressed her deepest adoration.
Nixon also shared a carousel of memories featuring the iconic trio — Carrie, Charlotte, and Miranda — along with the AJLT family. One face missing, though, was Kim Cattrall, the unforgettable Samantha Jones.
“I can’t believe our wild beautiful And Just Like That ride is almost over,” Nixon wrote. “It has been such a delight from start to finish. I will miss working with these people everyday SO incredibly much but know we will always be a part of each other’s lives.”
She concluded by teasing that the cast had “surprises in store.”
In her own post on the same day, Parker posted that she and showrunner Michael Patrick King mutually agreed it was time to call it a day on the series.
