US Defense Intelligence Agency head Lieutenant General Jeffrey Kruse has been fired, US officials say, in what is now the latest top military officer to lose their job under the presidency of US President Donald Trump. The agency’s initial assessment of the damage caused by Washington’s military strikes on Iran’s nuclear programme contradicted Trump’s claims that the sites had been “obliterated”.
