On Tuesday, the “Twilight” star, who dated the pop star briefly in 2009, celebrated the bride-to-be by reposting a post from the NFL’s official Instagram page, praising Kelce popping the question to Swift.
The repost, which featured a snapshot from the “Bad Blood” singer and Kelce’s scenic engagement above a picture of the couple smiling at each other on the football field after the tight end won the AFC Championships earlier this year, was originally shared to the NFL’s Instagram on Tuesday.
In an adorable nod to Swift’s words after Kelce’s team won, the NFL’s post also included the words, “I can’t believe this is happening,” to which they added the caption, “same.”
“I think when you respect somebody for who they are in their soul, it allows you to move on, forgive and continue that love in a different way. And thankfully we had that,” Lautner told Alex Cooper during an episode of her “Call Her Daddy” podcast in December 2023.
He added: “So after things ended between us — we were so young, I was 18, she was 20, 21 — we stayed friendly, we would see each other now and then.”
Swift and Kelce first announced their engagement news in a joint Instagram post Tuesday that has since amassed more than 30 million likes.
The couple, who publicly confirmed their relationship in 2023, have not announced a date for their wedding ceremony.
