- Michelle Pfeiffer is set to star on The Madison, an upcoming spinoff of the hit Western series Yellowstone.
- Matthew Fox, Patrick J. Adams, and Amiah Miller round out the supporting cast.
- A release date on Paramount+ has yet to be announced.
There’s no shortage of Yellowstone spinoffs in the works, which isn’t surprising considering the success of the neo-Western and creator Taylor Sheridan’s staggering track record as a writer and producer.
In addition to his work helping to launch Paramount+ hits like Tulsa King and Landman, Sheridan is currently helping shepherd a pair of Yellowstone sequel series, Y: Marshals and Dutton Ranch, to the screen.
The former concerns Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) as he pursues a career in the U.S. Marshals, while the latter lingers on Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) as they oversee the ranch that was so central to Yellowstone.
And then there’s The Madison, an upcoming Yellowstone spinoff that also counts Sheridan as an executive producer. The series centers on a family of city slickers who set up camp in the Madison River Valley of central Montana.
The project has been in the works since 2023 but picked up steam when three-time Oscar nominee Michelle Pfeiffer signed on to lead the series (and serve as an executive producer) in the summer of 2024.
So, what is The Madison about? Who’s joining Pfeiffer in the cast? And when is it coming out? Below is everything we know about The Madison.

Per a press release, The Madison “is a heartfelt study of grief and human connection following a New York City family in the Madison River valley of central Montana.” Unlike previous Yellowstone spinoffs, it’s set in the current day, after the events of its predecessor.
It’s currently unclear how, outside of its setting, The Madison will intersect with Yellowstone, or if any Yellowstone cast members will be appearing on the new series.
Yellowstone focused on the Dutton clan, a family of successful ranchers looking to protect their land from developers and other bad actors. A pair of prequels, 1883 (2021–2022) and 1923 (2022–2025) explored the origins of the Dutton family and how they came to own their land.

We may not know much about The Madison‘s plot, but we know plenty about its cast and characters. Pfeiffer, for example, will lead the series as Stacy Clyburn, a woman who relocates her family from New York to Montana following the death of her husband.
She’ll be joined by an impressive supporting cast that includes Patrick J. Adams, Elle Chapman, Beau Garrett, and Amiah Miller.
Adams, best known for playing legal eagle Mike Ross on Suits (2011–2019), stars as Russell McIntosh, an investment banker who’s “followed the life path set before him from the start.”
Chapman, a relative newcomer who appeared in 2022’s A Man Called Otto, plays his wife, Paige McIntosh. Paige is described as a “somewhat self-centered woman who indulges in a luxurious New York lifestyle provided by her parents and husband.”
Miller, who starred in Amazon Prime’s My Best Friend’s Exorcism (2022), stars as Bridgette, the pair’s oldest daughter.
Actress and model Beau Garrett, a veteran of The Good Doctor (2017–2018, 2020) and Firefly Lane (2021–2023), will also play a key role as Abigail Reese, a “resilient and sardonic New Yorker” and mother of two who recently got divorced.
Rounding out the cast is Matthew Fox, the Golden Globe-winning Party of Five (1994–2000) and Lost (2004–2010) star. He plays Paul, who’s characterized as an outdoorsman and self-reliant bachelor.
Is there a release date for The Madison?
As of this writing, Paramount+ has yet to announce a premiere date for The Madison. This comes as something of a surprise, considering it was shot in late 2024 and initially slated to arrive in 2025.
While a release window is unclear, the show’s future is not. Executive producer David C. Glasser told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram in August that season 2 of The Madison will begin filming in September.
