Premios Juventud is gearing up for a star-studded awards show in Panama. Rolling Stone can exclusively reveal the first cohort of performers, which includes Grupo Firme, Maluma, Farruko, and Bad Gyal, for the Sept. 25 event.
Completing the first batch of announced performers are Mexican star Xavi, Colombian pop singer Camilo, band Morat, and Spanish pop singer Lola Indigo.
“I’m very excited to perform live at Premios Juventud, especially in this edition taking place in Panama, a place so important in the history of the music I’m such a fan of,” Bad Gyal, who’s up for three awards, said in a statement to Rolling Stone. “I’m really looking forward to sharing with Panamanian fans and performing in the country for the first time.”
Bad Gyal will make her debut at the awards show and play her song “Da Me,” Grupo Firme will play “El Beneficio de la Duda” from their recent album Evolución, Maluma will perform “Bronceador.” Xavi will play “Corazon de Piedra.”
Meanwhile, Lola Índigo will hit the stage to debut “MOJA1TA.” Camilo will sing his track “Una Vida Pasada” and will also be joined by Morat to play their collaboration “Me Toca a Mi.”
“We are thrilled to be performing for the first time at Premios Juventud,” Morat tells Rolling Stone. “This is also the first time they’ll be held outside of the U.S., which makes it very exciting as well.”
This year’s awards show is scheduled to be hosted in Panama City on Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. ET and air live on Univison, UniMas, Galavision and Vix. The show will be hosted by Alejandra Espinoza, Nadia Ferreira, and Clarissa Molina. More performers are set to be announced in the coming weeks.
Bad Bunny and Danny Ocean lead the nominations list with six each, while Anitta, Beéle, Carín León, Emilia, Myke Towers, Netón Vega, and Peso Pluma follow behind with five awards.
