FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida, Sept. 12 — The St. Thomas Aquinas [Fort Lauderdale, FL] Raiders are under way against the Western [Davie, FL] Wildcats in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The Raiders are up 31-0 in the second quarter.

St. Thomas Aquinas’ only loss so far is a 26-23 setback in the season opener to the current TSN No. 1 Mater Dei [Santa Ana, CA] Monarchs, and the Raiders are still on the fringe of the national championship conversation. They’ll need a lot of help, including a couple of losses by the Monarchs, most likely, to find a path to the title, but for now, all they can do is take it one game at a time against their local Florida opponents.

This week, that means a game against the winless Western Wildcats who are off to an 0-2 start. The Wildcats were shut out in the season opener, 18-0, against the Plantation [FL] Colonels but at least got their offense going in a 28-16 loss to the Coconut [FL] Creek Cougars a week ago.

Aquinas is heavily favored in this one, and it could be a long night for the visiting Wildcats.
