Rob Lowe is being fore-thright about his deep-seated fear of golf carts.
The 61-year-old Parks and Recreation alum revealed that he is absolutely “petrified” of the little motorized vehicles and very nearly crashed one at Patrick Schwarzenegger’s nuptials earlier this month.
“At Patrick’s wedding I almost wiped out,” Lowe told host Jimmy Kimmel on Tuesday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. “I literally almost got killed in a golf cart.”

The St. Elmo’s Fire star admitted that he’s “always had a phobia” of golf carts. “I’ll do crazy stuff. I’ll big-wave surf, I’ll heli-ski, but I’m petrified of golf carts,” he said. “I think in a past life maybe… I don’t know.”
Most of all, Lowe is “petrified of rolling a golf cart,” which he almost did while at Schwarzenegger’s wedding to his wife, model Abby Champion.
“I did a full double 360. I’m bad at math, so double 360, and that’s how many times I turned,” he explained. “It was down a really steep hill, and the grass was wet. But! Movies, they give you stunt driving, so I just kept the wheel [straight] like I was trained to, and my friend said, ‘You looked like a statue as you were spinning.'”
Lowe clarified that his fear stops at golf carts and that he’s fine with other vehicles.
“Well that makes no sense because golf carts only go 25 miles an hour. Is it the lack of a seatbelt?” Kimmel asked, to which Lowe responded, “No! I’ll tell you what it is. I feel they’re tipsy-toppy, ready to roll over all the time.”

Aside from the golf cart incident, Lowe, whose son Matthew also recently got engaged, noted that he had a great time at Schwarzenegger’s nuptials.
“It was a beautiful wedding,” he said. “I’m at that stage where all my kids’ friends are getting married, so it’s kind of wedding season in that way.”
He also revealed what Patrick’s dad, Arnold Schwarzenegger, said during his speech at the ceremony.
“‘It’s good to see everybody here,'” Lowe teased, doing his best Arnold impression. “‘It’s a wonderful day. And Patrick is killing it now with The White Lotus.'”
