As the country still comes to terms with the political violence that took the life of conservative podcaster Charlie Kirk, we’re seeing more public responses.
Down in Florida, the New College of Florida’s is commissioning a statue of Kirk that will be privately funded by local community leaders. The statue will go up on campus as “a commitment by New College to defend and fight for free speech and civil discourse in American life.”
Today, we announced that we will commission a statue of Charlie Kirk to honor his legacy and incredible work after his tragic assassination last week. Kirk was obviously a divisive figure and everyone immediately rushed to make the same comment.
Any Charlie Kirk statues will need surveillance equipment because they’re going to be repeatedly destroyed.

It’s getting vandalized the first week

Make sure you keep security cameras around it at multiple angles.

hopefully a clean up/restoration fund is also initiated so unis dont remove it as an excuse when it’s continually desecrated.

Kirk was obviously not without his detractors and they weren’t afraid of voicing their concerns with the concept of building a statue for the controversial figure.
I don’t recommend making a statue out of a racist bigot tbh.

This is the guy who’s openly called all colleges a scam btw

It’s a completely ridiculous idea to erect a monument to a PR figure of a specific movement who sowed division and hatred while pretending to be a hero of free speech.

Oh, it’s a Florida college. pic.twitter.com/XZv9auNj4i

Here’s a quote from Charlie Kirk you can use… pic.twitter.com/Zg1svWy0Xt

Erecting statues of Charlie, who was an outright racist, sends a message that the college endorses his actions.

Where will it be placed? Right next to George Floyd’s?
— Arne (@ArnePoparne) September 17, 2025
May as well put a whites only sign at the entrance
