US President Donald Trump on Thursday announced steep tariffs on pharmaceuticals, heavy trucks, home fixtures and furniture, escalating his global trade war. The measures, effective Oct. 1, mark Trump’s toughest trade action since April’s sweeping reciprocal duties on nearly all US trading partners.
