Keith Urban got called out for pulling a pretty weird move.
Maggie Baugh, a rising country musician and utility player for Urban, posted a video to social media on Saturday that features her playing guitar onstage with the “Blue Ain’t Your Color” singer during a recent stop on Urban’s tour.
The two were playing Urban’s hit “The Fighter” — which was inspired by his romance with Nicole Kidman. But to Baugh’s surprise, Urban decided to switch up a lyric mid-song.
The song’s original line was, “When they’re tryna get to you, baby I’ll be the fighter.” But that night, while Baugh played by his side, he instead sang, “When they’re tryna get to you, Maggie I’ll be your guitar player.”
Baugh posted a video of the moment to both her Instagram and TikTok accounts. Over on Instagram, Baugh highlighted the lyric-switcheroo with overlaying text, that included the emojis,
“Did he just say that👀,” she captioned the clip.
HuffPost reached out to Baugh and Urban for comment but did not receive an immediate response.
On Monday, TMZ broke the news that Urban and the Oscar winner have been living apart “since the beginning of summer,” according to multiple sources close to the former couple. The outlet’s report also stated that Kidman “did not want the separation and has been trying to save the marriage.”
Just a day after the news broke, Kidman filed for divorce in Nashville, Tennessee, where the couple has lived since 2007, People confirmed via court documents.
