Amazon’s Prime Day deals event is officially here. But it’s not the only retailer joining in on price drops: For a limited time, Walmart is offering the 16-inch HP OmniBook 5 for $479, a huge $381 discount.

Walmart’s deal on the HP OmniBook 5 is honestly one of the best I’ve seen during this current round of price drops. It has a lot going for it. For starters, the laptop has a 16-inch 2K display, providing ample workspace with crisp, clear visuals. HP’s device measures less than an inch thick — sleek enough to fit inside backpacks comfortably. And the Glacier Silver finish complements the slim build very nicely, giving the laptop a modern look that is sure to turn heads.

The real standout feature for me is the AMD Ryzen 5 8540U processor, an AI-powered chipset capable of handling just about everything you throw at it. I wouldn’t classify this as a powerful laptop; after all, it only has 8GB of RAM. It may struggle with certain workloads. What it may lack in power, it makes up for in longevity. AMD’s chipsets are known to be energy-efficient. And that can be seen with the HP OmniBook 5, which has a purported runtime of 15 hours on a single charge.
To sweeten the deal even further, Walmart is offering three free offers, including a free four-month trial of Apple Music.

How I rated this deal
As per ZDNET’s rating system, I grant this deal a perfect score of 5/5. A $381 discount on this laptop is almost 50% off. The only way a deal like this could be better is if the OmniBook 5 were free. I recommend the model to everyone, especially those hunting for a new go-to computer for work and school. It provides everything that you could want on top of a long battery life to boot.
