US President Donald Trump hailed an end to Israel’s “painful nightmare” in a speech to the Israeli knesset on Monday as the last surviving hostages returned from Gaza and the first Palestinian prisoners were freed under a US-brokered ceasefire. His lightning visit came ahead of a Gaza peace summit in Egypt’s Sharm El-Sheikh.
