Jamie Lee Curtis may have switched bodies in “Freaky Friday,” but one thing she’s never switched up is her love for her husband, Christopher Guest.
In the August/September 2025 issue of AARP Magazine, Curtis reflected on more than four decades of Hollywood stardom — and the one person who has consistently brought a smile to her face since 1984.
“But the one thing I cannot do for myself is to make myself laugh,” Curtis said in the cover story published on Wednesday.
The “My Girl” actor went on to state just how much humor means to her, saying that “she values humor as a lifesaving trait.”
“I married the funniest dude on the planet. Christopher Guest can drop me to the ground with a look, let alone a phrase,” she said. “It can be annoying to be married to somebody who can use his humor to disarm any natural rage that you might have, but it’s also an amazing blessing.”
The Hollywood couple celebrated 40 years of marriage in December 2024 — an impressive milestone, especially considering they’d only known each other for six months when they first tied the knot.

“We loved each other but barely knew each other,” Curtis wrote in an Instagram post to commemorate their anniversary in December 2024. “Today, we know each other really well and still love each other. We’ve been through a lot and have raised and loved two beautiful daughters and started many new careers and weathered the myriad storms of life on life’s terms of loving and loss.”
Curtis and Guest share two children, Annie and Ruby.
