It was an especially bittersweet weekend for the family of Julian McMahon.
Sunday marked what would have been the 57th birthday of the actor, who died earlier this month. His daughter Madison McMahon — with whom McMahon shares with his ex-wife, Baywatch actress Brooke Burns — marked the occasion with a heartfelt tribute on social media.
Madison, 25, shared a photo of her and her father hugging on a tree-lined sidewalk to her Instagram Stories with Ray Stevens’ 1968 track “For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow” playing in the background.

“Dad. Happy birthday. There will never be enough words to describe how much I miss you. And somehow, even less that capture how deeply I love you,” she wrote on the image.
“All I know is that I’ll miss you and love you forever,” she concluded.
Madison’s tribute was shared weeks after McMahon’s wife of more than a decade, Kelly McMahon, announced his death on July 4, revealing that the actor had died July 2 following a private cancer battle.
“Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work, and he loved his fans,” she said. “His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible … we wish for all of those to whom Julian brought joy to continue to find joy in life.”

Entertainment Weekly later confirmed that the Australian American actor, beloved for his roles on such TV series as Nip/Tuck and Charmed, died of lung metastasis as a result of head and neck cancer.
McMahon, the son of former Australia Prime Minister William McMahon, was remembered in by his former costars from various projects, including Charmed, Nip/Tuck, 2005’s Fantastic Four and its sequel Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, as well as Paranoia and Red.
His Charmed costars Holly Marie Combs, Rose McGowan, Alyssa Milano, and Brian Krause called McMahon a “force of brilliance, wild talent, and humor.”
“That smile. That laugh. That talent. That presence. He walked into a room and lit it up — not just with charisma, but with kindness. With mischief. With soulful understanding,” Milano wrote on Instagram. McMahon’s demonic character Cole Turner on the WB fantasy series was a longtime love interest for Milano’s character Phoebe Halliwell.
Milano went on to praise her “TV husband’s” professional and personal strength. “He made me feel safe as an actor. Seen as a woman,” she said. “He challenged me, teased me, supported me. We were so different, and yet somehow we always understood each other. Julian was more than my TV husband. He was a dear friend. The kind who checks in. The kind who remembers. The kind who shares. The kind who tells you the truth, even when it’s uncomfortable — but always with love.”

Dylan Walsh, whose Sean McNamara was the best friend and professional partner of McMahon’s plastic surgeon Christian Troy on the Ryan Murphy FX drama Nip/Tuck, remembered him in a letter addressed to McMahon shared with EW.
“I know you like to flout the boundaries, but this time you’ve gone too far. Let’s meet at the Biltmore, have a martini, and we’ll talk this through,” he wrote in part. “We’ll laugh hard, the valet will bring up your Hummer, and right behind my hatchback with car seats and bird s— on the window — we’ve laughed at this too many times. Now it’s just us. You’ll kiss me on the cheek and say, ‘Bye, Dyl.'”
