Disney’s “The Roses” opened in first place at the U.K. and Ireland box office, grossing £2.1 million ($2.9 million) in its debut frame, according to Comscore. The film was the clear market leader in a weekend where several new entries helped shake up the chart.
Universal’s 50th anniversary re-release of Steven Spielberg’s “Jaws” made a strong showing at No. 2, pulling in $1.4 million across its first weekend. The classic thriller outpaced the fourth-week run of Warner Bros.’ “Weapons,” which moved to No. 3 with $1.1 million, bringing its cumulative total to $14 million.
Universal’s animated sequel “The Bad Guys 2” held well at No. 4, taking $1.09 million for a running total of $16 million. Disney’s body-swap comedy “Freakier Friday” rounded out the top five, collecting $1.01 million in its fourth weekend to lift its total to $10 million.
Sony’s “Caught Stealing” launched at No. 6 with $772,462, while event cinema drew crowds with “Andre Rieu’s 2025 Maastricht Concert: Waltz The Night Away!,” which bowed at No. 7 with $765,911. Warner Bros. added more franchise muscle to the market with its 20th anniversary reissue of “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire,” conjuring $687,119 at No. 8.
Disney’s “The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” in its sixth week, moved to No. 9 with $683,528, pushing its cumulative gross to $31.2 million. Rounding out the top 10 was Magic Rays’ Indian Malayalam-language superhero film “Lokah Chapter One: Chandra,” which debuted with $452,426.
Coming up, MusicFilmNetwork presents “William and Harry: The Unseen Photos” on Wednesday, a one-day-only documentary directed by Tim Conrad. Featuring contributions from Ken Wharfe, Katie Nichol, Princess Esmerelda of Belgium and Ian Vogler, the film promises a candid look at two of the most photographed men in the world, with rare archival imagery and insider commentary.
Thursday sees the National Theatre’s “Inter Alia – NT Live 2025,” headlined by Rosamund Pike, part of the ongoing live theater broadcast series, continue its reach into cinemas.

Kaleidoscope Entertainment introduces “Row,” a psychological thriller, while Altitude Film Distribution fields two offerings: Sean Ellis’ boxing thriller “The Cut,” starring Orlando Bloom, John Turturro and Caitríona Balfe, set to open across 100+ sites, and Brendan Canty’s Berlinale-winning drama “Christy.” Sony Pictures delivers “On Swift Horses,” starring Daisy Edgar-Jones, Jacob Elordi and Will Poulter, while Bulldog Film Distribution handles British indie “Signs of Life.” Conic unveils Venice prize winner “Paul & Paulette Take a Bath.”
Universal brings in Ethan Coen’s “Honey Don’t!,” starring Margaret Qualley, Aubrey Plaza and Chris Evans, and MetFilm Distribution expands its slate with two releases — Irish Oscar entry “Sanatorium” and drama “The Courageous,” which bowed at Toronto.
