Brazil’s top court ruled on Thursday that ex-President Jair Bolsonaro will not be detained—for now—during his trial for allegedly plotting a coup. However, the 70-year-old far-right leader faces immediate arrest if he violates restrictions, including a social media ban. Bolsonaro is accused of attempting to overturn his 2022 election loss to leftist Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
