Emily is saying benvenuti a Venezia in Emily in Paris season 5.
The first look at the upcoming season dropped Wednesday and is the first real glimpse at what fans can expect from the new episodes — namely, work angst and relationship drama set against gorgeous European locales. This is Emily in Paris, after all.
In one particularly interesting still, above, Emily (Lily Collins) can be seen riding in a boat along Venice’s famous canals, looking glamorous as ever. The rest of the images show returning cast such as Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (Sylvie Grateau), Ashley Park (Mindy Chen), Lucas Bravo (Gabriel), Samuel Arnold (Julien), Bruno Gouery (Luc), William Abadie (Antoine Lambert), Lucien Laviscount (Alfie), and Eugenio Franceschini (Marcello).
This season, the cast also includes Thalia Besson (Genevieve), Paul Forman (Nico), Arnaud Binard (Laurent G), Minnie Driver (Princess Jane), Bryan Greenberg (Jake), and Michèle Laroque (Yvette).
Mais attendez, that’s not all Netflix revealed. A synopsis for the new season teases, “Now the head of Agence Grateau Rome, Emily faces professional and romantic challenges as she adapts to life in a new city. But just as everything falls into place, a work idea backfires, and the fallout cascades into heartbreak and career setbacks. Seeking stability, Emily leans into her French lifestyle until a big secret threatens one of her closest relationships. Tackling conflict with honesty, Emily emerges with deeper connections, renewed clarity, and a readiness to embrace new possibilities.”
Last season ended with Emily living out her best Lizzie McGuire Movie fantasies in Italy’s capital. The season concluded with her moving to Rome to set up and run Agence Grateau’s new office in the city, where she’ll be working with her latest love interest, Marcello. Mindy and Nico broke up when he destroyed her and the band’s chance at Eurovision, but things still came up roses for Mindy when Chinese Pop Star called and asked Mindy to be a judge and perform her new song on the show. Things also worked out for Alfie, who by season’s end had a new girlfriend and ended up offering advice to newly Michelin-starred Gabriel, telling him to take his pride out of the equation and fight to win Emily back.

To that end, the last we saw of anyone in the finale, Gabriel was asking Mindy where in Rome Emily was, at the same time Emily was shown happily jetting off on a Vespa with Marcello (cue: “What Dreams Are Made Of” by Hilary Duff).
Season 4 also revealed that Emily’s sometimes rival, sometimes friend, Camille (Camille Razat), decided to be a single mom with plans to adopt a child, paving the way for the character to exit the show ahead of season 5.
