European leaders are set to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Brussels to reaffirm their support for Kyiv amid uncertainty over stalled US peace efforts with Russia. The EU has agreed on a new sanctions package targeting Moscow, including a ban on Russian liquefied natural gas from 2027 and restrictions on oil tankers and Chinese refineries. Leaders also endorsed using frozen Russian assets to provide a €140 billion “reparation loan” to Ukraine. Zelensky is urging quick approval, stressing Ukraine needs the funds by year’s end with flexibility on how to use them. France24 Europe Editor Armen Georgian reports the latest from Brussels.
