It’s the most wonderful time of the year (for pop culture nerds).
The annual fan fantasia for all things entertainment, San Diego Comic-Con, is back for more panels, pop-ups, and can’t-miss presentations. And Entertainment Weekly is behind some of the weekend’s best.
If you’re headed to the seaside city with badge in hand, make sure you’re up on EW’s can’t-miss annual panels and exciting new partnerships. Before you even head into the Convention Center or any of its satellite event locations, make a pitstop at the official Comic-Con Popsicle Truck. Superfans are invited to enjoy their favorite characters in delectable, frozen form, courtesy of EW and Popsicle. Plus, collect exclusive trading cards with a fun surprise with each treat.
This year, EW is proud to partner with Funko Pop! Yourself and the Motion Picture & Television Fund (MPTF) on customizable Funko Pop! Yourself figures of some of this year’s luminary celebrity attendees. The personalized figures will be autographed at EW’s exclusive video and photo studio and be auctioned off to raise money to benefit the MPTF. Founded in 1921, the MPTF has remained steadfast for over a century in its mission to support members of the entertainment community with a safety net of health and social services, offering temporary financial assistance and case management.
“For the better part of two decades, Entertainment Weekly has been synonymous with San Diego Comic-Con,” reflects EW’s Editor-in-Chief, Patrick Gomez. “And for our 17th year, we can’t wait to deliver another unforgettable experience with our partners, celebrating fandom and highlighting the incredible talent behind the biggest projects shaping the future of pop culture.”
