French President Emmanuel Macron’s first and longest serving prime minister, Edouard Philippe, urged him to resign on Monday, suggesting that polls should be held early once a budget is passed. The appeal came a day after Sébastien Lecornu, France’s latest prime minister, resigned less than a month after being appointed, deepening the political crisis.
