Colorado Gov. Jared Polis dropped a less-than-subtle bid to officiate Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding while congratulating the couple on their big engagement news.
On Tuesday, Polis shared well-wishes to Swift and Kelce following the proposal by reposting one of their engagement photos on Instagram.
“Congrats Taylor and Travis! I always knew you two were End Game,” Polis wrote, referring to Swift’s 2017 tune “End Game.” “Your Love Story is So High School and Colorado Swifties are Down Bad with excitement over your engagement.”
Telling the pop star and Kansas City Chiefs tight end that they should “skip Florida” for their wedding ceremony, he then encouraged them to “exchange your Paper Rings in the majestic Rocky Mountains.”
Wrapping up his post, the governor signed the message “Certified Swiftie Wedding Officiant.”
The “Love Story” singer and Kelce, who have been dating for two years, have not publicly announced a date for their wedding ceremony. The duo has also not yet publicly responded to Polis’ Instagram post.
Swift notably has a rocky past with the state of Colorado after she accused former radio host David Mueller of groping her at a Denver meet-and-greet in 2013. Swift won a sexual assault case against Mueller in 2017. A judge later dismissed Mueller’s defamation-of-character claim against Swift after he accused the musician of wrongfully getting him fired.
