Hope Hicks, the former Trump White House communicatoins director and Fox Corp. communications chief, will join Megyn Kelly‘s production company, Devil May Care Media, as chief operating officer, Kelly announced Monday.
The hire comes as Kelly has been launching new programs beyond her “The Megyn Kelly Show.” She also hosts a morning-headlines program, “AM Update With Megyn Kelly,” and has enlisted other personalities. Plans for a true-crime outlet were unveiled in recent weeks.
“Hope Hicks is exactly the kind of woman I want running my company with me – strong, smart, strategic and the embodiment of class and poise,” said Kelly, in a prepared statement. “She’s at the top of a growing media conglomerate and there’s no limit to where she can take it; my best-in-the-business staff and I are thrilled to have her on board.”
Hicks has been assigned to lead business development and growth opportunities in addition to management and daily operations, and will report to Kelly. Hicks has most recently been working as a corporate consultant.
“I am incredibly humbled and thrilled to be joining Megyn and her team in continuing to build what is undoubtedly a flourishing business,” Hicks said in a statement.
“The Megyn Kelly Show” launched in September 2020 as an audio podcast, than expanded in 2021 via a partnership with SiriuxXM, launching a video counterpart.
Other shows under Kelly’s aegis include: “The Nerve with Maureen Callahan”, “Next Up with Mark Halperin”, “Spot On with Link Lauren,” and “After Party with Emily Jashinsky.” The true crime channel is expected to debut August 6.
