The heavy metal icon’s daughter, in an update to her Instagram Stories, made a nod to the start of the number, using lyrics from the beginning of a version that she and her father re-recorded as a duet back in 2003.
“I feel unhappy I am so sad. I lost the best friend I ever had,” wrote Kelly Osbourne alongside a broken heart emoji over a black background.
Ozzy Osbourne and his legendary heavy metal band originally dropped “Changes” as part of their 1972 album “Vol. 4,” and over three decades later, his daughter released a touching take on the track with her father as a single on her debut album “Shut Up.”
With the song’s original lyrics reflecting a breakup experienced by Black Sabbath cofounder and original drummer Bill Ward, the updated version sees Kelly Osbourne expressing love to her “daddy” and acknowledging that she’s found her “way” in the world.
Her father, on the other hand, expresses that “the world is an evil place” before noting that his “baby’s grown now, she’s found her way.”
The 2003 single hit the top of the U.K. Singles Chart, making it the first time in 36 years since a father-daughter duet achieved such a feat on the chart (Frank and Nancy Sinatra’s “Something Stupid” went No. 1 in 1967).
Just weeks before the death of her father, who experienced a number of health problems in recent years, Slipknot DJ Sid Wilson proposed to Kelly Osbourne while backstage at the final Black Sabbath concert in Birmingham.
“Kelly, you know I love you more than anything in the world,” Wilson begins.
“Fuck off, you’re not marrying my daughter,” Ozzy Osbourne chimed in.
Kelly Osbourne and Wilson were friends for decades before they started dating back in 2022.

Kelly Osbourne, in a separate post to Instagram, celebrated the “magic” farewell event for her father’s band and thanked those who came out to support the rock icon at his last show.
“My dad got his moment in the sun!” she wrote. “He was able to say thank you and good bye in the most beautiful way! #ozzyForever #blacksabbath #backtothebeginning.”
