- Kieran Culkin and his wife, Jazz Charton, announced their third child is on the way while on the red carpet for Waiting for Godot at the Hudson Theatre in New York City.
- The Succession star joked during his speech after winning the 2024 Emmy for Lead Actor in a Drama Series that he wanted “more” than the two children he shares with Charton.
- A year later, while accepting an Academy Award for his performance in A Real Pain, Culkin reminded Charton of a pact they made after the Emmys that if he won an Oscar she would “give you four” children.

The baby announcement means the Culkin-Charton household is becoming a party of five, after the birth of their daughter Kinsey Sioux in 2019 and son Wilder Wolf in 2021. It also fulfills an unofficial public pact the couple made over a series of awards speeches Culkin gave over the last few lauded years of his acting career.
In Jan. 2024, when Culkin took to the Emmys stage to accept the Lead Actor in a Drama Series trophy for his work on Succession, he thanked Charton for “sharing your life with me and giving me two amazing kids,” playfully adding, “I want more.”
“You said maybe. Maybe! If I win. I love you,” Culkin teased before exiting the stage.
Just over a year later, when Culkin won an Academy Award for his supporting performance in the Jesse Eisenberg family dramedy A Real Pain, he revisited the subject with more definite plans in mind.
“About a year ago I was on a stage like this and I very stupidly, publicly, said that I want a third kid from her, because she said if I won the award, she would give me the kid,” Culkin explained to the audience at the Dolby Theatre.
“After the show, we’re walking through a parking lot, she’s holding the Emmy, we’re trying to find our car,” Culkin continued. “She goes, ‘Oh God, I did say that. I guess I owe you a third kid.’ And I turned to her and I said, ‘Really, I want four.’ And she turned to me, I swear to God this happened, it was just over a year ago. She said, ‘I will give you four when you win an Oscar.'”
Culkin said that he and his wife of 12 years shook hands to formalize the deal and suggested, “Let’s get cracking on those kids. What do you say?”
Culkin previously revealed that he met Charton at a bar in New York City in 2012. They got married while on a road trip a year later and became parents in 2019.
Baby No. 3 won’t be the only Culkin-Charton kid to have an awards-show origin story. When Charton announced her pregnancy with daughter Kinsey in May 2019, she hashtagged the social media post “#theglobeswerefun,” implying that Culkin snagging his first nomination for Succession provided the occasion for the conception of their first child.
