Louvre director admits 'insufficient' security and says she offered to resign after jewel heist

The director of the Louvre on Wednesday told the French Senate there was “insufficient” security camera coverage at the instutution and that she had offered her resignation – which was refused by France’s culture minister – after an audacious heist on Sunday saw thieves break into the museum and steal €88 million worth of jewels.
