This article contains spoilers about the first six episodes of Love Is Blind season 9.
A new season of Love Is Blind began this week with six drama-filled episodes, and the cliffhanger ending left one of the season 9 cast members in total shock.
The first batch of episodes once again took five engaged couples on the post-pod vacation in Mexico, but there was already plenty of trouble in paradise. The episodes ended on a major fight between Kalybriah Haskin and Edmond Harvey after he discovered they’re the only couple not having sex on the trip.
Kalybriah had previously set that intimacy boundary with Edmond, saying she wanted to wait until they were married to have sex, to which he agreed. But Edmond’s feelings changed after learning at the pool party with all the couples that the other men had been having sex with their fiancées. When Kalybriah later confessed to Edmond she’d previously had one-night stands with men she didn’t care about, he began crying and throwing a temper tantrum with her in their bed about how he’s “too f—ing nice.”

Now, Kalybriah tells Entertainment Weekly that Edmond’s behavior during that fight was a major red flag.
“His initial reaction was very shocking considering I laid that boundary down before he even proposed to me in the pods,” Kalybriah says. “I’m like, ‘Are you okay that I want to wait until marriage?’ And he’s like, ‘Yeah, I’m okay with it.'”
She explains that the conversation began that night because they had “made a bet” regarding which of the other couples were going to have sex during the trip.
“That’s the only reason it even came up,” Kalybriah says. “We made a bet, I was like, ‘My girls are going to stay and hold out,’ and he was like, ‘No, my guys are going to do what they do.’ And I was like, ‘Okay, whatever.’ So I owed him two shots. Whatever, to each his own, but it’s just like, I thought it was a fun playful matter.”
When the conversation began, Kalybriah was smiling and laughing about it because she had no idea Edmond was going to have an emotional outburst.
“To see that it actually made him so angry that he threw in my face something I told him in confidence before, like, ‘Well you’ve had a one-night stand before, I’m your fiancé, why won’t you do this?’ It was hurtful,” she shares. “I’m like, ‘Wait, when did it get so nasty?'”
The way Edmond spoke about her past on-camera after they discussed it in private made Kalybriah doubt whether she could trust him going forward.
“Now I feel like I can’t tell you things because you’re going to throw it in my face in an argument,” she says. “But I’m just so understanding, so I understood that maybe a lot of people that he’s dated haven’t stood on their boundaries. Okay, this is a new world, this is our new world, and we’re learning each other still. It was so fresh, so it was just me trying to understand it all.”

While she didn’t like the way Edmond handled that conversation, she was willing to move past it and continue their relationship. However, it took her some time to process her own feelings, so she spent the night separate from him.
“We didn’t sleep together that night,” Kalybriah says. “I slept outside on the balcony and he slept in the room, but he did apologize. But I was like, ‘You’re not cuddling with me tonight.’ I had like four blankets, I was like, ‘Just don’t come out here.’ Granted, he still came out there bothering me.”
