Star quarterback Patrick Mahomes has put the Kansas City Chiefs on his back to give the defending AFC champions a chance to win their Week 1 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers in São Paulo, Brazil.
Mahomes has a plethora of unorthodox throws on his highlight reel, but completed one of his best yet on Friday night to help Kansas City stay within one score of Los Angeles at Corinthians Arena.
The pass, which was completed to veteran wideout JuJu Smith-Schuster, came after a crafty scramble to the line of scrimmage and required Mahomes to toss the ball from a most difficult angle.
Take a look at this video of Mahomes’ unbelievable connection with Smith-Schuster, which was posted to Twitter by the Chiefs’ official account:
Mahomes would finish the drive with a 37-yard touchdown pass to tight end Travis Kelce, which cut Los Angeles’ lead to two points in the fourth quarter.
