Chelsea striker Mayra Ramirez faces a spell on the sidelines after having surgery on a hamstring injury.
The 26-year-old Colombia forward sustained the injury during Chelsea’s friendly against AC Milan last weekend.
Ramirez was withdrawn in the 34th minute of the match, which Chelsea won 4-1, and had an operation following further medical assessment.
A statement from the Women’s Super League (WSL) club said Ramirez will now “begin a period of rehabilitation with the support of our medical team” and will be “sidelined for a period of time”.
Ramirez has scored 15 goals in 46 appearances for Chelsea since joining from Spanish club Levante in January 2024.
