KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One person is dead following a shooting at a Kansas City waterpark Saturday afternoon, the Kansas City Police Department says.
According to KCPD, officers responded to The Bay Water Park off Longview Road near Blue Ridge Cutoff around 5:30 p.m. They found one victim with life-threatening injuries.
That victim was taken to a hospital for treatment, but reportedly died from their injuries just before 9:30 p.m.

At this time, homicide detectives are taking over the investigation and will continue looking for evidence and potential witnesses.
Investigators will also work to determine what led up to the shooting. Preliminary investigations indicate there was an “interaction” between multiple people just before the shots were fired.

Police have not released the name of the victim.
