Jessica Williams has been open about her admiration for her Shrinking costar Harrison Ford.
With season 3 recently wrapped, Williams shared the moment on set when she realized that Ford was “the greatest living actor.”
In the most recent episode of Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend, the Love Life star described an emotional scene she had with the Indiana Jones actor.
“He was weeping, he was joyful, he was all of those things,” she said. “But it was one of those moments where they had to come in and be like, ‘Okay, Jessica, you’re weeping. So I don’t know if you’d be weeping as the character.'”
Shrinking follows the life of therapist Jimmy (Jason Segel), who has an emotional breakdown after the death of his wife, alienating their daughter Alice (Lukita Maxwell). His community, including coworkers Gaby (Williams) and Paul (Ford), help him pick up the pieces of his life and move forward.
Paul has also been coping with his Parkinson’s diagnosis and revealed in the season 2 finale that he stopped taking his medication. Ford delivers a moving monologue expressing his gratitude for life and friends in the episode.
Williams previously told Entertainment Weekly’s The Awardist podcast that it “was the best acting I’ve ever seen in person.” She also shared that she was “weeping” when filming this scene too. Ford recently received his first Emmy nomination for his work on season 2.
