Seth Meyers broke down what makes Donald Trump “so maddening” on Thursday as he clowned the president for hopping between talk of military strikes to “dumber topics” like food in the nation’s capital this week.
The “Late Night” host turned to clips from Trump’s recent press conferences, including one where he claimed that restaurants in Washington, D.C., were “dying” and “nobody wanted to go out” before he federalized the police force in the nation’s capital and deployed National Guard troops there.
“Friends of mine that haven’t gone to a restaurant in four years, one of them went out five times in the last two weeks,” claimed Trump in the Oval Office on Wednesday.
Meyers swiftly questioned the claim, “Who’s your friend, Guy Fieri?”
“Oh, my God, this is awesome. I’m so excited for the return of measles, mumps, tuberculosis, typhoid, whooping cough and rubella! I’m being sarcastic, of course, about all of them but rubella,” Meyers began.

“I wouldn’t mind if rubella came back because real talk, I don’t know what it is! I mean, I’ve heard it all these years, I don’t know what it is. Rubella sounds like one of those restaurants saved in D.C.”
