Looks like Twilight fans are in for a treat this fall, as the vampire saga teases a return to theaters.
The official Instagram account for the blockbuster franchise shared an image of Bella, Edward, and Jacob — the central human, vampire, and werewolf characters played by Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner — with the words “Forever Begins Again,” “The Twilight Saga,” and “This October.”
The post was captioned, “Tomorrow,” teasing more details to come on Thursday.
The account’s collaborators on the post were film company Lionsgate, which acquired Twilight production company Summit in 2012, and Fathom Events, which brings classic movies and special filmed events to theaters and shared the post on its own account.
There are five titles in the romantic vampire tale: Twilight (2008), The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009), The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (2010), The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 (2011), and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 (2012). Oct. 5 is the 20th anniversary of the release of the first book in author Stephenie Meyer’s supernatural series, which the movies are based on.
To say that Twi-hards — hard-core fans of the franchise — who saw the post were excited about a new development is an understatement. They speculated that Bella’s love triangle with vampire Edward and werewolf Jacob would play out once more in theaters or that there might be a new movie, animated TV series, or even book.
Comments included, “Y’all, I am going to burst into fangirl flames,” and “What is going on?” Even the game show Jeopardy‘s account wrote “OMG OMG OMG.”
The Twilight films collectively earned $408.5 million globally, per Box Office Mojo, and the films cranked up the careers of its young cast, which also included Anna Kendrick, Nikki Reed, Kellan Lutz, Jackson Rathbone, and Ashley Greene. Actors Billy Burke, Peter Facinelli, and Elizabeth Reaser also played central roles.

Kendrick, who played a human in the first four movies, spoke about the frenzy surrounding Twilight in an October 2024 appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast.
“I was really lucky to not be dealing with the eye of the storm,” she said. “You know? I think that a lot of the folks that were in the movie, even in the later movies, as long as you were a supernatural character, if you had one line, you couldn’t leave your hotel room. People were crazy, and people were criticizing, ‘Oh, but she has green eyes in the book,’ or whatever. And I just didn’t have to deal with any of that.”
One person who did is Lautner, who joked in November that heroine Bella should have ended up with his Jacob instead of Edward.
