British newspaper the Times of London apologised for mistaking former New York City mayor Bill de Blasio with a wine importer with a near-identical name. The exclusive article about his thoughts on Democratic mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani was deleted. The ex-mayor disavowed the story and the wine importer insisted he did not set out to dupe the paper, which failed the due diligence test.
